What is Tank Bottom Sludge?
Tank bottom sludge refers to the mixture of oil, grease, and impurities accumulated at the bottom of an oil tank or storage tank. When liquid oil products are stored in tanks, the grease and solid impurities will gradually deposit at the bottom of the tank, forming a mixture called tank bottom sludge. This type of sludge is usually composed of oil residue, soil, moisture, metal fragments, and other solid particles.
Pumps or vacuum trucks are often used to remove the sludge from the bottom of a tank. These devices can extract sediment from the bottom and transfer it to appropriate containers or processing machines. After that the oil sludge can be further processed for recovery and reuse. Realize harmless treatment and get benefits from waste. What process can be used to treat the oil sludge at the bottom of the tank?
Huayin provides a green and safe solution for the tank bottom oil sludge. The oil sludge can be processed by Huayin pyrolysis plant, it can be customized according to your requests. The screw feeder can be used to feed the tank bottom sludge into the pyrolysis furnace. Then after a high-temperature pyrolysis reaction, the structure of oil macromolecules in the oil sludge breaks and pyrolysis gas is produced. The oil gas will be condensed into fuel oil, and the noncondensable gas generated is recycled as the fuel of the pyrolysis furnace. The solid residue left after the pyrolysis of the oil sludge, also known as carbon black, can be used to make briquettes for heating. We have customers in Albania, Egypt, Indonesia, South Sudan, etc who process the oil sludge from the tank bottom, drilling mud, spilled oil of oil fields, and petroleum refinery factories.
